I caught up with a childhood friend by phone, not having seen her since we were teenagers, during which she'd informed me that her marriage went south, in part, due to the relationship being very co-dependent. After we got off the phone, I reflected on what she'd said, finding some of it quite relatable, and thought, "Hey, maybe there's a quirky love song in that!"
