I was commissioned by BMG to co-write some kids tunes for their Push Pop Jr. label.
I was visiting my parents in Boynton Beach, FL and had my guitar in their backyard when I wrote this tune all in one go, the opening riff feeling like a straight Buddy Holly influence (I own and have listened to his entire catalog many times over).
It's rumored that a member of Death Cab For Cutie's parents live across the pond in the backyard, (Ben Gibbard's??), so maybe the mojo of this indie rock band rubbed off a little bit.
